What is COBIT? Does it contradict ITIL & VeriSM or complement it?

COBIT 2019(latest), known as Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology, is a business framework for the governance and management of enterprise IT. It is a framework for the governance and management of enterprise information and technology (I&T), aimed at the whole organization. It was created by ISACA(Information Systems Audit and Control Association).

COBIT focuses on ITSM, but it has a broader scope than ITIL(since it studies the entire organization). While ITIL also focuses in ITSM, but not on the whole company. It only remains with the IT domain.

COBIT aligns IT goal with business goals while ITIL strives to organize IT services as well as IT departments workload.

Thanks a lot @Bhabajyoti_Kalita . I wonder how frameworks COBIT/VeriSM/ITIL would look like as Venn diagrams.

ITIL inside, VeriSM, COBIT as outward circles. Is my understanding correct?

This is what it would look like.

@Bhabajyoti_Kalita @aslamsayed VeriSM would be the outer circle, then COBIT and inner one ITIL?
